Choosing a Class
The age recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully constructed to best group children in an age and developmentally appropriate way. Therefore, it is important that your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the semester for the class in which you are enrolling. If you have concerns about your child’s success in a particular age range, I am happy to discuss your child’s needs and to work with you to place him in the class best suited for him/her.
Make-Up Classes
Classes will be made up in the event of teacher illness or inclement weather. I will notify you of the cancellation and the scheduled make-up day. If you are unable to attend any of the scheduled sessions, you are welcome to make up the lessons in another class of the same age group after prior arrangement with the teacher.
Free Visits
I am happy to schedule a complimentary visit to one of my classes for you to experience the class and see how Kindermusik can benefit your family. Please call to arrange a suitable time.
Bring a friend for free
You are welcome to bring along a friend who is interested in Kindermusik classes for a complimentary lesson. You will need to book this session in advance with the teacher. If your friend enrols for a full term, you will receive a $10 discount on your next enrolment fee.
Sibling Discount
A discount of $25 is available for siblings attending any program in the studio during the same period (except for Family Time where the discount is built into the fees).
Non-Enrolled Siblings
Due to limited class sizes and the delicacy of the younger class settings, Village and Our Time classes can only accommodate non-enrolled siblings when the sibling is young enough to stay contented in a car carrier or stroller. Emergency exceptions are considered.
Register Early
Although you may join our classes at any time, please register early since class sizes are limited and many fill quickly. Registering at least 1 weeks before the term begins also ensures that I will have your child’s materials for you at your first class. If you enrol after the term begins, tuition can be pro-rated accordingly.
Enrolment Confirmation
A registration form and payment must be received before enrolment can be confirmed. You will receive a phone call, email or mailed notice within one week to confirm your registration
Making the Most of Kindermusik Classes
Plan to arrive about 5-10 minutes early for class. Arriving a little before class provides time for your child to settle in to the musical environment as they prepare to enjoy exploring instruments, reading books, or listening to music. We do request that toys, juice cups and pacifiers be kept out of sight, and that snacks be finished prior to class. Be sure to dress comfortably.
During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model. It is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before feeling comfortable in class. Don’t be discouraged – what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class. The understanding and consistency of the parent or caregiver in class and at home are key to facilitating musical learning and growth.
By the way, I love for parents to visit with each other before or after class, but not during class time, please. J When you are an active, focused, enthusiastic participant in the class activities, your child will model your actions and focus more fully too.
You and your child will enormously benefit from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home Materials. Frequent reinforcement at home throughout the week makes all the difference in a child’s comfort and participation in the classroom
Kindermusik Guarantee
We are committed to excellence in teaching and service at our studio. Thus we offer you The Kindermusik Guarantee: If, at six weeks of complete attendance at Kindermusik with regular use of your home materials, and after consultation and discussion with our director your satisfaction with Kindermusik is not what we all expected we will refund the balance of your tuition costs less $20 administration processing fee which are yours to keep and enjoy. Pro-rated tuition refunds are also given in case of withdrawal due to unforeseen circumstances.
